President & CEO
Network Health WI
Coreen Dicus-Johnson grew up with her 10 siblings in Las Vegas, Nevada. This large family enjoyed spending time together entertaining their grandparents and friends by singing and dancing. Coreen participated in school plays, church musicals, cheerleading, and was a member of her high school dance team. At age 18, Coreen left Las Vegas to pursue higher education at Marquette University. Dancing took a back seat to working several jobs to pay her Marquette tuition. However, during her sophomore year, she was fortunate to find a job as an aerobics instructor teaching hip/hop aerobics and step aerobics in addition to her other jobs . . . all to help pay her tuition. Coreen taught several classes for many years until her career pursuits made it difficult to maintain a consistent class schedule.
Coreen met and married her soul mate, Kurt Johnson while attending Marquette. Following a period of marital bliss, they welcomed a daughter, Miranda, into their family. After college Coreen had a short stint as a stay at home mother and then
later decided to attend law school. She earned her Juris Doctorate in 1997 and began her career as a staff attorney for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Wisconsin. Coreen left Blue Cross in 2004 to pursue other opportunities at a local consulting firm and then was recruited to join the leadership team at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare where she held various progressive executive roles. Her last role was president of the Central Market. Coreen is currently President and CEO of Network Health, a provider-owned health insurance company.
Coreen has been honored as one of Milwaukee’s Forty under 40, Women of Influence, Donald Driver Foundation Driven to Achieve Recipient, BizTimes Health Care Hero Award, a Marquette University Alumni Award Recipient and she was inducted into The Fellows of the Wisconsin Law Foundation. Coreen enjoys dancing and music, and is excited to help raise money for Cristo Rey doing something she loves! Cheering Coreen on will be her amazing husband Kurt, her daughter, Dr. Miranda Johnson, and future son-in-law, Kurt Peter . . . along with her fabulous friends from her Book Club!
