Principal and Consulting Actuary
Eric Goetsch is a lifelong Milwaukee area native. He proudly grew up in South Milwaukee and still keeps in touch with many of his fellow Rockets. After high school, Eric received a Mathematics degree from Marquette University while lifting girls above his head as a four-year member of the Marquette cheerleading squad. From there, Eric spent his one-year of living outside the Milwaukee area while obtaining his Master’s degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Wisconsin.
Eric started at Milliman immediately after finishing at UW and recently celebrated his 25th anniversary there, where he is currently a healthcare consulting actuary and equity partner of Milliman’s Chicago-Milwaukee Health practice. While accepting of the nerdiness of his profession, Eric takes pride in showing the world actuaries can be exciting people! Throughout his career, he has tirelessly worked to provide high levels of customer service and quality work to his clients and
be a source of positive energy to the employees at Milliman.
Eric has been married to Carrie for fourteen years and has three girls, Ava (13), Ella (11), and Emma (9). All three of his daughters are very talented dancers and are still trying to figure out if they should be proud of or nervous for their father’s participation in this event. There is simply nothing else in the world that gives Eric more joy than his family.
Eric has many passions that take up his free time, with the two biggest being time spent with friends traveling and attending concerts, especially by rock bands from the 80’s and early 90’s. Recent trips to Paris to see Metallica and Dublin to see Def Leppard were dream trips that combined both. Eric is a huge supporter of Summerfest and is part of a group helping to bring improvements to the Amphitheater to keep the best music acts in the world coming to Milwaukee every summer.
If Eric had his way, the eleven days of Summerfest would become official holidays.
Eric got involved with Cristo Rey as part of Milliman’s participation in their work program. He is humbled by the professionalism of these young adults and inspired by the work being done at the school. The hopes and dreams that Cristo Rey is bringing to our future leaders is a great example of why he is so proud to be a Milwaukee native and excited to be part of this great event!!
