Rolando Rodriguez

President & CEO

Marcus Theatres

Rolando Rodriguez is an executive vice president of The Marcus Corporation and chairman, president
and CEO of Marcus Theatres. Under his leadership, Marcus Theatres has grown into the fourth largest
theatre company in the U.S. with 90 locations in 17 states.

A native of Cuba, the visionary leader’s interest in film began at a young age while visiting the movie
theatre every Sunday with his family. After immigrating to the U.S. at 11 years-old, that love for film led
to one of his first jobs as a ticket taker and, eventually, a rise up the ranks to CEO.

Although he has built a life away from his roots, Rolando will never forget the journey that led him to
where he is today. For these reasons he counts family, philanthropy and the pursuit of a more diverse
and inclusive world and workforce among his greatest passions.

Outside of work, Rolando can be found spending time with his leading lady, wife Maria of 37 years, and
their four beautiful daughters. They enjoy taking in all Milwaukee has to offer, traveling and playing with
their two mischievous Chihuahuas. While he’s been known to break into dance at company meetings,
this is the first time Rolando has taken formal lessons. He is thrilled to take on this new challenge all
while supporting Cristo Rey, an organization who, like Marcus Theatres, believes in the importance of a
quality education for all students. In addition to these efforts, Marcus Theatres sponsors the Cristo Rey
student work study program to provide real-world experience for the next generation of leaders.

Locally, Rolando serves as chairman of the Hispanic Collaborative, is a member of the Children’s Hospital
of Wisconsin Board of Directors and has spearheaded two annual fundraising events at Marcus Theatres
—Hollywood Movie Night benefiting Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and the CineLatino Milwaukee
Film Festival, which gives back to local Hispanic health and education efforts. He also serves as the vice
chairman of the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) Executive Board of Directors and is a
member of the Rave Holdings Board of Directors. Rolando received a BA from Eckerd College and a MBA
at Rockhurst University.
